About us

Vincent Settlement Church was organized on July 17, 1886 in Carlyss, Louisiana. 13 Charter members organized the Church out of the Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly, Louisiana. Vincent Settlement Baptist Church is the third oldest Church listed in the Carey Baptist Association. Originally organized as a Southern Baptist Church, the Church withdrew from the Southern Baptist Association in July 1982, and became an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church. The first Church building was completed on December 10, 1887. In 1913, property was purchased from Nathaniel Vincent, On August 6, 1918 a major hurricane destroyed the original Church building. The present Church building was rebuilt and was still in use even after Hurricane Rita in 2005 until damaged by Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020.
Services are being held in the fellowship hall provided by the Lord after some building damage from Hurricane Rita.
The original building is still standing and ready for repairs and remodeling as the Lord provides.
We are still true to the KJV bible and traditional hymns and music.
We are a small congregation that loves the Lord and people and desires to see the salvation of the lost.

In a world of insecurity, instability, and darkness where do we go to find light for our soul? What relevance does the scripture have in today's society? Does God know I exist? Does He have a plan for my life? How can I come to know God better? These are questions that people have been asking for ages. They are questions that you and I have probably asked ourselves at one point in our own lives and they merit a confident answer. The good news is that the answer for all of these questions, and any others, can be found in one place and that one place is the Word of God. At Vincent Baptist Church, we strive to know God and His precious Word. Understanding that while we are not perfect, God still loves us and has a plan for every man, woman, boy, and girl in this world. The most important part of God's plan for you is knowing that your eternity is settled with Jesus Christ. As people we all inherit a nature from our parents. That inherited nature is sinful and as a result of that sin we must realize that there is a judgement for that sin. We preach that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life for all mankind. Regardless, of your nationality, social standing, or church background, the only way to get to Heaven is through the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. When we place our trust in Him and repent from our sins toward God, we are then accepted by the grace of God into His family. We would love for you to come join us in our journey as we learn together, from the Bible, how to walk in His ways. It is our prayer that you would join us for one of our weekly services as we unashamedly preach what the scripture says. If we can be of any spiritual help or assistance to you, please let us know. It is our desire to be a blessing to others as we serve our Savior!
